Trial version and iPad
If i understand it is possible to develop an application for iOs and test it inside livecode but not to test it in real on an iPad as it seems it require a paid Apple developper Id. Am i right?

Re: Trial version and iPad
Apple will not let you develop for an iPad without being part of their $ developer program. And you cannot deploy an app to an iPad without an Apple developer license. This is true no matter what tool you use to develop your app.
Re: Trial version and iPad
Even if the developed app is a free one?
Re: Trial version and iPad
AirLaunch might be cheaper than getting an Apple Developer account..
Re: Trial version and iPad
In AirLaunch doc I read:
Note that LiveCode will not compile iOS apps without a provisioning certificate, so enrollment in Apple's developer program is also required. AirLaunch cannot bypass provisioning restrictions.
Thus impossible to use without the certificate...

Re: Trial version and iPad
Yes, LiveCode requires a developer license before it will even compile for iOS.
Even if you do have a license, if it isn't exactly right AirLaunch does the installation for you (and it works) but after installation the iPad checks in with Apple. If the license isn't valid for some reason, you'll get a popup that says the app couldn't be installed at this time. What really happened is that the app installed just fine, but it didn't pass Apple's verification test.
Apple is strict about it. You can't deploy any app without being a member of their developer program.

Re: Trial version and iPad
You could always Jailbreak the device.. Do not ask me how, as all my devices are Apple stock..
Re: Trial version and iPad
And yes, this applies even if it's a free app.
And even if it's only going onto your own device.

It's not funny to make applications just for simulator which has not gps and camera.

It is difficult to test the LiveCode ability to generate proper iOS app using the trial version if you have to check them only in the simulator...snm wrote:It's not funny to make applications just for simulator which has not gps and camera.

Filemaker GO ver 12
You can develop full database solutions for IOS and deploy them without having to go thru the whole dismal app store process. FMGO12 is now free at the app store. I was wrapped up in LiveCode but dismayed by the whole process of development for IOS and the continual problems that people were having with that. I love LiveCode, have since it was RunRevolution, but I also can truthfully get a multi-table relational database put together with slightly less wonderous graphics than what LiveCode is capable of (FM12 is a major improvement in that dept over 11) and onto my Ipad, or yours for that matter in the 3 hours that Kevin and crew promised was going to be an easy task using Live Code two years ago..
Once the whole world discovers this factoid , I don't see how anything else can compete unless its a game or something else thats non data driven.
