Is there a way to access the Contacts from my iPhone's Address book?

Like if I wanted to make an app that let me browse through my contact's info?

Address Book access is not (yet) supported by LiveCode iOS.

It's on my todo list. I've got the people picker done and then you can query the simple properties of the person. But I haven't done the multiple value properties (like phone number,address etc). How much interest in this is there?

It's not getting as many votes as some other ideas. Video recording/image capture control is most voted at the moment and mapkit was the leader of the pack last time.

It's possible an address book external may come from another party so I'll get some other things out while I find out if they are going to release. This topic has certainly added a few poll votes to address book and it's currently leading mapkit.

That article seems to only breifly mention address book. I assume if it's mandatory that the address book framework will ask for the users permission for the app just like location.

Here's a vote for address book access. I don't want to make another contact system, but I do want to leverage the contacts the user already has. I also need to be able to associate external data with records in the address book data base...
