quicktime player

Post by sturgis » Fri Aug 31, 2012 3:29 am

Does anyone know of a way to get the lc quicktime player to play purchased drm'd video? Quicktime itself will do so as long as the machine has been authorized. I'm hoping there is a workaround so that i can get playback working within lc.

Hi sturgis,

if the player object does not support his out of the box (and it doesn't!, just tested),
I'm afraid there is no workaround. These movies do not even play in Safari, so using
a browser object obviously doesn't work either :(

Best

Ew, that kinda sucks.

I can probably use applescript to control quicktime/itunes but the way mountain lion treats full screen with dual monitors i'm back to having a useless second monitor when playing video fullscreen on 1.

xbmc works nice.. but won't play them either. I could set up an external player with xbmc but.. hey, back to the fullscreen problem again! I need to find a 3rd party something or other that will play them fullscreen without using the new lion/mountain lion fullscreen mode. ARGH. wish apple would be LESS 'helpful' sometimes.

Thanks much for the confirmation.
