Relayering Groups within Groups

Hi guys

Got a small problem, I want to relayer a group that sits within another group, for display purposes. So far the only way I know is to edit the parent group and then set the child group to top (otherwise livecode throws a hissy fit as it's within a group)
If I use "set the relayergrouptocontrols" just ends up putting the groups into each other and messing it all up.
Is there a better way to do this?
If not, why does it take so long to do it?
