Live Code 5.5.3: Missing User Guide in 'Help'

Hopefully my 2nd and last of my Startup Blues !

I'm running LiveCode 5.5.3 and I'm brand new to it. I think I've read the documentation and installed the SDK correctly but...

The User Guide does not display when selecting Help | User Guide ? Any ideas ?

Is this just me ? Or... ?

I do have a work around in that I can go launch it manually from the Programs | LiveCode | Documentation folder but... (which at least proves it exists I guess) but really that's just the pdf and I have very limited pdf features on my PC (like it's not possible to jump from an Index click to the relevant page... it does work tho')

Now it's just how to get the xml / active / web browser help file working and I'm cooking...

The "User Guide" is in fact a PDF document and selecting that menu will open an EXTERNAL PDF browser if installed.
The XML files are used by the "Dictionary".

No idea what you mean with "active" and "web browser" help file?

Hey, thanks Klaus.

Understood. PDF doc that should load / display when Help | User Guide is selected. Nothing happens here BUT, like I say, I have found the file and now created a shortcut to it from my desktop so no worries there. Don't understand why it doesn't fire automatically on clicking the menu item... but... it works just fine from the shortcut. I guess there's some install issue with my laptop...

OK - as I found the pdf I also saw various xml files and simply assumed (incorrectly ) that there was a more dynamic web help or similar. No worries. Brings me back to probably needing to go and update my pdf reader.

Once again, thanks for that. Slowly working my way through the multitude of tutorials and help videos etc. >>> >>> and back to It all takes time son ! as my good old pappy used to say.
