Converting LiveCode Commercial to Open Source

Post by hasecbinusr » Tue Mar 05, 2013 6:45 pm

Good day,

I'm not quite sure if this is the correct space for this, but it seemed to fit best here.

I'm thinking about using LiveCode for an ongoing project, however I plan to switch to the Community (Open Source) version once it is released. The question is: can the projects I work on in the commercial version be migrated to the open source version easily, or will they require rebuilding?

Hi Michael,
From what I've seen the only thing the commercial licence gives one is the ability to password protect. I would guess that if you build your standalone using the open source version all password protection would be removed.
Not exactly sure what you mean by rebuilding, but there shouldn't any code difference.
