How to remove an update waiting for upload?
I have a new version of me iPad app which is now waiting to be uploaded, but I want to remove it. I can find no way of doing this other than waiting 3 months for it to expire. Any suggestions? I have an iPhone app which is waiting to be reviewed and I don't want that to impede that from happening (they might not want to review my iPhone app until the similar iPad app is uploaded). Thanks for any suggestions!!
Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
Hi SusanB, if the state of the app is "Waiting for upload", you should be able to enter int the application details in iTunes Connect and click on "Delete Application" blue button.
About other apps, no problem I think. Hoping to understood right your questions.

I couldn't find the blue delete button
I think it used to be there, but it isn't any more!

Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
You should find it by just enter in that app details, there is a row of buttons, the first should be Rights and Pricing, the latest Delete Application. Please note that this could be available only for apps that is waiting for a new version and are in the state Removed from Sale. If this is not the case, try to search for a Binary Details or something similar you should find it by clicking in the app icon if I recall correctly.SusanB wrote:I couldn't find the blue delete buttonI think it used to be there, but it isn't any more!
Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
I know there used to be a delete button, and there is a screen shot of it in the documentation, but it isn't there anymore. They've made some changes, and I think this is one of them. The blue buttons are for the following: Rights and Pricing; Transfer App; Manage In-App Purchases; Manage Game Center; Set Up iAd Network; Newsstand Status. These are in the upper right hand corner above my new version with the Waiting for Upload notice.

Hi Susan, try to enter in Rights and Pricing and in Specific Stores, remove the app from all the stores, then more options should appear.SusanB wrote:I know there used to be a delete button, and there is a screen shot of it in the documentation, but it isn't there anymore. Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
I'm just a little bit afraid I might remove the existing app from the stores instead of the unwanted update waiting to be uploaded. Maybe I could just fix a minor bug or two and upload a different new version to satisfy the apparent need to finish what I started instead of aborting it. Why must things be so complicated?
Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
You can access it this way:
Manage your apps > Select your app > Click the "view details" for your "Current version" (listed as "waiting for review") > Click "Binary details" (top right) > Now you can reject the binary with the button at top right
Edit: Mag (below) is right; i have misread your question. You can leave it as-is until the reservation expires. The down side of expiring is (IIRC) that you can't re-claim the same name if this happens. The fear of this helped me meeting my deadline for my app

Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
Hi Susan, actually I don't think there is the need to remove an app, you can leave it there in the state you prefer, with no problems. I don't think that iTunes requests to "finish what you started". You can take all the time you need to decide what to prefer to do, it doesn't affect all your other apps.SusanB wrote:I'm just a little bit afraid I might remove the existing app from the stores instead of the unwanted update waiting to be uploaded. Yes, all the iTunes Store thing it's a bit complicated, I agree... but I guess that also Google Play it's the same, if not worse.
Hi Vince, great advice, unfortunately I think the app it's on "waiting for upload", not "waiting for review".vince wrote:Can can access it this way:

Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
I am so thankful for these suggestions. We have such a kind, helpful community. After 30 days, the unuploaded version will be automatically removed. I just thought they might not review my iPhone version of the iPad App until I had "finished" all my uploading. I have a deadline which is today which probably wouldn't have been met, anyway, but I wanted to clear the way to get the waiting to be reviewed app, reviewed. I would so love to see that little green hilited circle right about now.......
Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
I agree with you Susan, this is a wonderful community. A huge added value to LiveCode.
PS
I also like to see that little green hilited circle after having worked so hard on an app!

Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
Hooray! That little green Ready for Sale circle is there now. That is just such a happy looking sight. I guess having the extraneous iPad app new version waiting eternally for upload didn't stall the review of the iPhone version. It took one week to go from "waiting for review" to "in review". And then that same day it went to "ready for sale". That's pretty fast, I think. I feel like Apple is my friend, now

Re: How to remove an update waiting for upload?
Susan, wonderful news. Congratulations on your new achievement!
