Video Formats

Post by newpie » Thu Sep 05, 2013 4:02 pm

Hello, I know this is simple question, but wanted to make sure before purchase. I have software that can create MP4 Video files (not thru quicktime). Can LiveCode use these standalone files in the Cards without any issues on a window machine. I am 99% sure it can, but wanted to double check. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, the Windows Media Player codecs installed by default do not appear to include one for MP4, requiring the installation of additional software to provide that:

If your audience will accept installing QuickTime as a solution to provide MP4 codecs, you'll also find that LiveCode's current video playback feature set is much richer on system with QT installed.
