swapping colors in PNGs

Hello,

I have some PNGs that made up of one color ( black ) with a transparent background. I would like to be able to change the color programatically. Essentially replace the black with a different color without effecting anything else.

Is this something that can be accomplished with LiveCode? If so does any one have any code samples?
