RevBrowser - Only the brave read on

Post by lohill » Thu Oct 17, 2013 10:45 pm

I am using code obtained from Browser Sampler.rev that used to shipped as sample code with versions of LiveCode(RunREV). I have been using it mostly with success since I first started using RunRev back with version 4.0.0. Now I have a URL that causes the IDE to crash both with versions 5.5.4 and 6.1.1. It may be related to the complexity of the URL but I have many more URLs that are almost as complex which do not cause a crash. The crash gives me the error message that 'LiveCode quit unexpectedly' and gives me a report that I am not able to decipher.

This problem can be easily replicated by running Browser Sampler.rev. Once you have it going, paster the the following URL in the address bar and press Go: http://gtr1.backtest.org/2012/?h1::BCC: ... 9%7d%7d%7d

If you want to test one with an equally ugly URL that does work try this one: http://gtr1.backtest.org/2012/?h1::BCC: ... 0%7d%7d%7d

By the way, I should add the the URL that has the problems can be pasted into the address bar of Safari and FireFox on the Mac and Explorer and FireFox on the PC and they all work fine.

Let me know if you have any ideas or if you think this is something for a bug report.

Thanks,
Larry

And those are two ugly URLs.

Hi Larry,

I can confirm that iIam able to replicate this issue that you are experiencing.

As this is the case, could you please file a report on the issue with our Quality Control Team? This will allow us to hopefully track down what is causing the issue and implement a fix if possible.

Our quality control site is here-
