Hi,
I'm a computing teacher using LiveCode in the classroom with secondary school pupils - which is going well.
I want to demonstrate a LiveCode program working on an Android device but I am having problems with LiveCode recognising my Android SDK.
I am using Windows 8 64-bit and have:
-Installed the Java SDK
-Installed the lastest Android SDK
-Installed 2.2, 2.3.3 and 4.1.2 with all dependencies
When I try to set the folder using the Mobile Support option in preferences I always get the message stating that Android 2.2 (Froyo) has to be installed.
I've followed the lesson entitled "How do I Become an Android Developer on a PC?" but I need some further assistance as I cannot get this to work.

Re: Not a valid Android SDK
Hi,
You have to point to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk" and not to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Android". I have saved my entire Android file tree to a text file. Maybe it helps.
Kind regards,
Mark

Re: Not a valid Android SDK
Hi,
Are you using LiveCode 5.5. or earier? It looks like those don't work with Android. I did a test today and I'm unable to make LC 5.5 or earlier point to the correct Android directory. I get the same spurious error.
Kind regards,
Mark

Re: Not a valid Android SDK
You can set the correct Android SDK in LC =< 5.5.5 but only with Android SDK r21.1 or lower. You can, I believe, install both 21.1 and >= 23.3 (in different folders) and work with 5.5.5 or lower with one preference and set another preference for higher.
