Native controls in LiveCode 5.5.1

The Android Deployment Release Notes describes how to create some native controls starting on page 50. For example, the Notes state,

To create a native control use:
mobileControlCreate controlType, [ name ]

Is there some way to create a native control by dragging it from the tools palette? Isn't that the point of using LiveCode instead of just coding in Java?

When will this actually happen?

obviously this puts my purchase on hold .... i was actually so eager to pull out the credit card and get started. :cry:
