I am a software developer specialising in Microsoft Access business applications. I am investigating whether LiveCode is a suitable multi-platform language I can use so that I can convert some of my applications to mobile platforms.
In working through the Game Academy lessons I have made a start. However, when I try to install the Galactic Gauntlet app from the Google Play Store on my Samsung Galaxy SII I have run into a major problem. The app downloads and then, after starting the installation, the screen goes blank and the phone won't respond to any buttons. The only way to get it working again is to pull out the battery!!
This is very disappointing as I would expect that if LiveCode was as good as you say it is, an app written by your own developers would run fine on most devices. Nothing else I have installed has ever given me this sort of problem.
This leaves me with a major concern as to whether I am wasting my time learning this language as deployment to multiple platforms may turn out to be a major issue.
Thanks
Richard Williams
