Installing LiveCode on Linux

Post by tasdvl9 » Fri Dec 06, 2013 3:58 am

Hi Everyone,

Trying to get my feet wet using Livecode.

I downloaded an executable(LiveCodeCommunityInstaller-6_5_0-Linux.x86) from the site onto my Linux machine but
I am having issues installing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Which distro? You'll get better help if you can be more explicit about the problem(s) you're encountering.

You need to make sure if you're running a 64bit system that you've got the basic 32bit compatibility libs installed and then all the libs that LiveCode uses must be installed in their 32bit versions as well.

As downloaded, the installer doesn't have executable permissions. You'll have to do that.

How far does this get you?
