Android SDK installion on Ubuntu 14.04 (solved)

Post by sefrojones » Sat Jun 21, 2014 10:02 pm

I recently installed Ubuntu 14.04 and am trying to get the android SDK and AVD to install. I am following the directions from here:

http://lessons.runrev.com/m/2571/l/8075 ... r-on-linux

I get to the part where it tells me to run the "android" script. When i double click on it, it opens in gEdit, even if I set the permission to executable. I'm pretty new to Ubuntu (moving over from Windows 7), so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I got this figured out, it seems Ubuntu 14.04 has the ability to run text files turned off by defaule. I was ablt to go into file maneger>preferences>behaviour and set it to run executable text files when they are opened.
