I'm using LiveCode version 7.0.3
When I set the textFont property of a field to "Droid Serif" it works in the windows devel environment (where I have the font installed) but not when I test the app on my Android tablet.
Querying the "effective textFont" property reports that the field should be in "Droid Serif" but it is actually displaying in "Droid Sans". "FontNames" reports that "Droid Serif" is available.
My android tablet is running Android version 4.4.2
I have a simple test stack that illustrates the problem.

Re: Can't get app to use "Droid Serif" font
Note: I can use the "Droid Serif" font in other apps on the tablet, such as WPS Office, but I don't know if they are using the system version, or if they include their own version of the font.

I tested fonts on Android, and I have no problems at all, read this (translate in your language with the button in the top right):
