Starting Point for Learning Revolution?

Post by EddieColumbus » Mon Dec 08, 2008 1:33 am

I am hoping to learn Revolution and began at the Resource Center, but to be honest I am lost since from time-to-time there seems to be an assumption I have seen something before. Am I starting at the right place (Resource Center) or am I supposed to begin somewhere else to learn Revolution?

For example, the "Commands and functions:" PDF makes references to seeing the 'beep' and 'answer' commands in earlier tutorials, which I can assure you are not mentioned in any document in the Resource Center before this document (top down).

Hi Eddie, welcome to the Rev community.

I had a quick look and on my setup (Rev Studio 3 on Windows XP) the very first video tutorial under "Getting Started" - the "Revolution Basics" has the beep and answer commands included starting about a third of the way into the video. It doesn't appear that the pdf content is the exact mirror of the video content, though, so you may be missing some stuff if you're using just the pdf information, thinking that it contains everything that the videos do.

This post here: http://forums.runrev.com/phpBB2/viewtop ... =9375#9375 also has a number of links to other learning resources and tutorials. Some of it you will need to come back to when you have got a bit more of the basics under your belt, but you will find them helpful in future, I'm sure.

Also there is a great community on this forum and I'm sure you'll find plenty of help whenever you need it.
