Post by powervette » Thu Jul 30, 2015 2:18 am

I wanted to create acouple free apps for the iPhone, but not sure after looking over Livecodes web site if that is allowed with the open source version.

HI powervette,
Welcome to the forums!

Open Source apps are not allowed in the app store. This is an Apple rule, but I did hear something about that changing (don't hold your breath). You'd have to get one of the commercial licences liveCode offers even if it's a free app. Oh and there is the $99 Apple developer fee as well.

OK, thanks, way too much money just for acouple free apps. Glad I didn't waste more than a day checking out Livecode.

Hi powervette,
Didn't mean to put you off liveCode.
No matter what tool you use, if it's open source, Apple wont accept it.
Don't forget Android is 80% of the market and you can use liveCode community to build and publish your apps.
