Music Notation Project

Post by Pianoguy70 » Wed Mar 18, 2009 9:21 pm

Hi, I hope my post is in the appropriate place. I'm interested in using Revolution for building a music notation software app. Is anyone here familiar with Finale? My project would be similar but would have no staff or ledger lines. Instead notes are color coded. Is it possible to create this app in Revolution. And, if so, does anyone have experience on a similar type of project? I would appreciate any comments.

Thank you,

Greg

Hi Greg,

I have been thinking of such a project for a long time. I am very familiar with colour coded notes, but with staffs and ledgers (because kids have to learn to read as early as possible). I don't think that this is difficult, it is just a lot of work. Feel free to contact me off-list about this.

Best,

Mark

Mark,
Thanks for the reply...and what a fast one it was. Color coded notation isn't new, but my idea is a little different. It's not necessarily for children even though most color notation is geared towards kids. I'm not a coder, but I suspected it could be a lot of work. Would you consider it a small or a medium project?
