get url error application failure OS X 10.6.8

get url error application failure OS X 10.6.8

Hi All,
I get "error application failure" after I get an https .txt url file on OS X 10.6.8 (a version for old system LC 7.0.6)
All works fine on OS X 10.12.3 LC 8.1.3
Is it a way to avoid this ?
