Missing .rev stacks and folder

Post by macroman » Thu Mar 11, 2010 12:46 am

Sorry about this one, it's a total noob question. I've been programming for over 30 years but I've only been playing with Revolution for a couple of weeks. I've spotted something unusual this evening and I'm just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on it. I'm running on Vista-32 Ultimate SP2 by the way.

In the course of getting used to Revolution, I've created a number of stacks, nothing major and all sorts of everything. I've saved the stacks and I can open and close them and all that kind of stuff with no problems.

I created a folder for one of the stacks and I have a 300 line text file that I wanted to copy into the folder and parse using a Revolution script. I copied the file and browsed around to the C:\Program Files\Revolution Studio folder to paste the tile into the folder where the stack is and I couldn't see the folder... I also couldn't see any of my other stacks. I browsed around a load of times just to make sure that I was in the right place and still no folder or files. I browsed around from File, Open within Revolution Studio and I can see the folder and stacks no problem... back to Windows again and they're gone.

Needless to say, this is now coming between me and my sanity.

Can anybody please explain what is going on or where they are hiding?

Thanks a million

This is Vista UAC. The files will be in a special folder wthin your user folders, and are "faked" to programs that Vista considers "backwards". Look the issue up on this wikipedia page.
