Updating to New Version

Post by resedasue » Tue Jul 05, 2011 8:45 pm

Stumbling right out of the gate here - upgraded to a commercial license and downloaded the license file to activate it on my existing personal-use-only version. I purchased the 4.6.2 version but the activation window informed me I couldn't use that license since I had 4.6.1 installed. No probs, downloaded the license file for 4.6.1 and am now good to go. But now cannot figure out how I can update my 4.6.1 version to 4.6.2. Any hint/tips much appreciated.

Hi resedasue (Sue from Reseda? :-)

you need to log into your account on the RunRev page -> Store.
There you can download the new version.

Best

Welcome!

Multiple issues have been reported that the install for 4.6.2 does NOT associate v4.6.2 with .liveCode or .rev files.
There is a popup that asks you if you want 4.6.2 associated. Tick Yes.

i.e. So that when you double click on a .livecode or .rev file 4.6.2 should open.

Once LiveCode opens you can verify the version and build thru Help | About.
4.6.1 = 1390 and 1392
4.6.2 = 1430

Could you please let us know if the association works or not?
All my best,

Ah, gotcha. For some reason thought I'd be updating 4.6.1 with a patch as opposed to downloading a whole new application. Thanks Klaus (and you guessed it - or thereabouts, anyway). And no problem with the association - dbl clicking on a .livcode file launched 4.6.2, even with 4.6.1 still installed.

Thanks both!
