Revolution Studio crash

Post by spongehammer » Thu Jun 28, 2007 9:16 am

Hi,

i have just purchased and installed Revolution Studio 2.8.1 build 470.
I am running windows xp pro with all the updates.
As far as i can tell everything seems to work fine except for one thing.

As soon as i drag a quicktime player object on to the stack, Revolution closes. No error messages , it just closes instantly.
I dont seem to have any issues playing quicktime files in either a browser or with the standalone quicktime player.
I use other multimedia software which allows the playing of quicktime .mov with no issues.
Could anyone throw any light on the situation?

Thanks

Mark

Dear spongehammer,

I have just tried it on Win XP, without problems. So, I can't really help you.

You might tro to remove and install Revolution again. You could also try deleting the file .../program files/revolution enteprise/2.8.1-gm-2/resources/sample.mov. Maybe the movie is corrupted somehow.

Best,

Mark

Hi Mark,

thanks for the response.

To be honest i dont think Revolution is directly at fault. I have installed it on a different PC and it works as expected.

The problem must be on my PC somewhere. I just hoped someone else might have had the same issue. I guess i dont really want to re-install XP :?

Hi,

just thought i would follow this up in case anyone else has the same problem.

I have found the fault. It is the latest Nvidia Graphics drivers for my 8800 GTX card. I have moved back a couple of releases to the 97.94 drivers and the problem has been resolved.

As yet i am unsure how an application i create now will run on the latest drivers, but i will post here if anyone is interested.

Chris
