Cannot change the Image border

I have an image frame (just the very fine line defining the image rectangle) and wish to change it to a wide border and white, just like a photo might have.
I can easily change the width of the border, but it remains black.
I can make 3d but end up with 2 sides transpent and 2 grey for the shadow.
I have fiddled about with the colours and patterns, but no joy.
There must be a simple way of creating this effect other than planting a white border to a graphic rectangle on the image area.
Any suggestions?

yep, this is a real annoying bummer!
Set the bordercolor of the CARD, and the image border will follow
